Isaac is the current Managing Director of the Commercial Bank of Africa where he has previously served as General Manager and Executive Director. He has vast experience in the finance and banking sectors spanning Europe and Eastern Africa having previously worked with BDO Binder Hamlyn, Nation Media Group and Standard Chartered Bank, Githonga and Company in various senior executive roles.
He’s served as chairman of the Financial Sector Board of KEPSA, chairman of the Council of Riara University and director of Bata Shoes Company Kenya Limited and Nairobi Java House Limited. Through his involvement in charitable and philanthropic activities, he is the Chairman of the Kenya Conservatoire of Music and of the Fundraising Committee of the African Alliance of YMCAs; Director of the Gatsby Kenya Charitable Trust, the Kenya Hospital Association (Nairobi Hospital), Trustee of the Rhino Ark Trust, Zawadi Africa Education Fund and Kuona Trust (supporting local artists) among several others.
Isaac Awuondo holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting and Finance) degree from the University of Nairobi. He is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW), the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (CPA K) and the Kenya Institute of Management
