The Nairobi Innovation week scheduled from August 1 – 5, 2016 is expected to attract various speakers to deliver keynote speeches. Delegates who attend the Innovation week will have a chance to interact directly with speakers during some of the highly anticipated plenary sessions at the University of Nairobi.
The Chief Guest this year is Mr. Joseph Mucheru, Cabinet Secretary in the Ministry of Information, Communications and Technology. He is also one of the founders of the Wananchi Group which has a regional presence in East Africa. He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Economics and Computer Science from the City University London. He has worked with Google as the first Sub-Saharan employee and served in various capacities at Google including Chief Technology Officer and Chief Executive Officer.
As a technology and business mogul, Mr. Joseph Mucheru is expected to deliver the keynote speech during the Innovation Week to various stakeholders. Delegates are encouraged to engage him as a policy maker and a successful businessman during the Nairobi Innovation Week.
Another speaker is Mr. Christopher Fabian from UNICEF. He is a technologist and innovator who is one of the leaders in the Innovation Unit at UNICEF. Mr. Fabian has a passion for innovation and was recently voted as one of the most influential people on the planet by Time Magazine. UNICEF is the lead partner in the second edition of the Nairobi Innovation Week.
In addition, James Mwangi is expected to grace the Nairobi Innovation week and deliver a keynote speech. He is currently the managing director and CEO at the Equity Holdings Group. Mr. Mwangi is a well renowned businessman and was awarded the Forbes Africa Person of the Year in 2012. He encourages innovation and is expected to engage delegates on how the financial system promotes innovations and access to funding.
