Dr Omar has vast experience in the area of strategy and policy that spans academia and public sector. He is currently the Commissioner for Strategy, Innovation and Risk Management at the Kenya Revenue Authority. Prior to that, he was the Economic Pillar Director at the Kenya Vision 2030 Delivery Secretariat, where he was responsible for giving leadership and strategic direction to the implementation of the economic pillar flagship projects.
He has also worked as a lecturer at the University of Nairobi. Dr Omar has a keen interest in applied research, strategic management, and knowledge management in general, but more specifically in innovation and how organizations and societies transform to become knowledge-based entities.
